Su fruto, la algarroba, es una legumbre muy nutritiva. En la escasez de la posguerra la algarroba se convirtió en alimento fundamental ¿Sabías que también se usa para hacer un tipo de chocolate?

Mallorca exporta algarrobas a Finlandia para alimentar a los renos de Laponia ¡Así pues contribuimos a hacer llegar los regalos de Santa Claus!

El Garrofín tiene un peso y tamaño tan uniforme que los antiguos joyeros árabes y judíos lo empezaron a utilizar como unidad de peso. La palabra “quilate” viene del árabe “quirat”, que a su vez viene del griego “keration” (algarrobo).

Mallorca exports carob beans to Finland to feed reindeer in Lapland. So we help deliver Santa’s gifts!

The carob beans are so uniform in weight and size, that ancient Arab and Jewish jewellers started using them as a unit of weight. The word ‘quilate’ (carat) comes from the arabic ‘quirat’ which comes from the Greek name of the carob tree ‘keration’.
